All new Taurus drives into Metro Moncton
October 23, 2009
The showroom at Taylor Ford on Lewisville Road in Moncton had a special glow to it last evening, mainly due to some exciting and stylish new products.
You see, last night was the big reveal of the all-new 2010 Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKT.
While the new Lincoln MKT was the subject of much admiration, the Taurus was getting most of the attention last night, primarily because of its upscale new look. Unless you know what the 2010 Taurus looks like ahead of time, you probably won't recognize it on the street.
Noting the fresh new look barely prepares the curious onlooker for the seemingly endless additions to the operating systems.
You may be relieved to know the Microsoft Sync voice-activated, in-vehicle communications and entertainment system returns along with SIRIUS Satellite radio, enhanced by Sony 5.1 surround sound through 12 speakers.
Sync now has the ability to contact a 911 operator if any airbag deploys. Both the Lincoln and Taurus benefit from the new Ford Eco-Boost V-6 twin- turbocharged, direct-injection engine that delivers increased horsepower while maintaining fuel economy.
The improvement is especially noticeable in the Taurus which has seen the output improve from 263 horsepower to 365 horsepower, while getting 35 miles per gallon on the open road.
The New Taurus SHO is front and centre in the showroom and is the best model to check out in order to learn about the many new features, such as the adaptive cruise control which can automatically match the speed of the vehicle in front of you.
Some of the many new safety features include the blind spot information sensor which detects when a vehicle is in your blind spot and activates an icon in the side rearview mirror. There is also a high beam light sensor that automatically dims the high beam when it detects oncoming traffic. The cross traffic alert feature notifies the driver if a vehicle approaches while backing out of a parking space surrounded by high-sided vehicles.
Equally impressive is the windshield moisture sensor and the massaging leather seats, driver and passenger side. The 2010 Taurus SHO and Lincoln MKT, the future is now.
